According to the
state health insurance laws, elementary cancer precaution and/or early cancer diagnosis consists
of:
- starting at the age of 20:
cervcal smear
examination in a special laboratory
as well as a thorough gynaecological palpation of
uterus, ovary, fallopian tube, pelvis and vagina.
- starting at the age of 30:
additional palpation of mammary glands
- starting at the age of 45: additional
examination of intestinal system

- Ultrasonic examination via the
vagina (Vaginal Sonography)
The quality
of the pictures of the pelvis
achieved using this method are much better. Any changes of mucous membranes of
the uterus ,as well as tumors or cysts
of the uterus and fallopian tubes that are not discovered by palpation
at this stage can be recognized in the early stages.
