Effect:
A "T"-shaped plastic part is
inserted into the uterus in order
to prevent pregnancy.

The IUD
continuously emits tiny quantities of copper into the uterus. Thus
the IUD disturbs the mobility of sperms. The egg cannot embed -
therefore the IUD provides long-term protection without any hormonal interference.
Suitable for...
- Basically for every woman who has already given birth and wants a long-term reliable contraceptive without the side-effects
of hormonal alternatives.
- For all
women who cannot tolerate or should not take pills containing estrogen (e.g.
smokers, women over 40, varicose veins etc..).
Not suitable for...
- Women with a very tight cervix; in these cases it might
not be possible to insert the IUD.
- Women with inflammation of the fallopian tubes (salpingitis)
in the past.
- Because of the risk of infections the IUD is
not well suited for women who have not had children yet.
