The mini pill
fundamentally differs from the regular combination pill.
It does not contain estrogens; only gestagens (=
luteum
hormones) in a very low dose.
The major effect is to
make the cervix impenetrable for sperms. Furthermore
fertilized eggs will not embed.
The mini pill must taken daily and very punctually - within only 1 hour
timespan. In terms of reliability the mini pill is not quite as
reliable as ovulation inhibitors.
