CONTRACEPTIVE COMPUTER - a small chemistry laboratory

The different computer systems available are not contraceptive methods. These systems serve only as a tool for the  NFP   "Natural Family Planning" method.

The objective of the NFP method is to to determine the fertile days of the woman, during which either sexual intercourse is avoided, or other means of contraception must be used.

These computer systems are divided in two groups:

  • Most systems are programmed according to the rules of the "extended" temperature methods
  • Other systems support additional data sources, like the consistency of vaginal discharge or the level of some hormones (luteinizing hormone measured with sticks).

Effect:

The computer indicates, when a urine or saliva test must be done. Photometrically the hormone level is determined. Based on this information the system then forecasts and displays the days of ovulation.
