Process and Organisation of the Clinic

Our clinic is primarily an order clinic , i.e. normally you arrange a date for your visit  by telephone or personally with my assistants.

At that point please tell us briefly what investigations presumably need to be carried out so that we are able to plan the required time in advance.

Patients are thus treated in the order of their scheduled appointments.

Please note that blood tests, injections as well as other laboratory work may take place at short notice and independent of the arranged sequence of treatments.

If a patient arrives too late, the next patient may already have started treatment. Arriving substantially earlier than agreed on does not mean that the treatment starts earlier as well.

Cancelling an appointment

In case you cannot keep your appointment we kindly ask you to call us in time to make an alternate date. This way we can make the most of short-term changes for emergency patients.

Emergencies

In case of sudden problems during our consulting hours just ask for a short-term appointment. Consider however that you might have to wait a little longer than usual at our clinic. Note also that then only the acute problem will be treated.

Patients without appointments

Note that if you don't have an appointment you might have to wait longer compared to patients with an appointment.

Precautionary check-ups

If our appointment calendar is full up,any new appointments made for precautionary check-ups will result in delays. Please keep in mind that precautionary check-ups cannot be made at short notice.

Delays

Despite all efforts, our practice cannot always run on schedule, due to various reasons: a chat with the doctor may take longer than planned; a patient may be late; unforeseeable emergencies may occur.
My assistants will let you know how long you may have to wait. Since the practice is in town, you may wish to do your shopping or attend to other matters during the waiting period.

Our team works hard to keep your appointments as scheduled, because nothing is worse than lost time. We hope we can spare you from having to wait unnecessarily.

After our consultation hours

you can try to reach me at home if you have an extremely urgent problem. Our answering machine will supply you with the telephone number. Before you call please make sure that you definitely need immediate help and the problem cannot be put off until the next morning..
If you cannot reach me, please call the medical emergency service, or in the case of obstetrical problems, please contact the clinic where you will be delivering your baby.

Repeat prescriptions and referrals

may be picked up without having to wait if you let us know by telephone a day ahead.
You may also request continuous prescriptions  by E-Mail. Everything will be ready to be collected the next day, with no waiting period!
If it should happen that you cannot collect your prescriptions,we can send them to you. Please leave a stamped addressed envelope and your insurance card with us.
When prescribing medication, we check for any contraindications and side effects. This provides for a high level of safety relating to drugs and medication.
For economical reasons I must subscribe the cheapest brand available of a particular drug, or a different brand name of medication than what you may be used to so far.

Blood tests

not on an empty stomach, let us know ahead if possible, however no appointment necessary, daily from 8 to 10 a.m.
For testing hormone levels, the 4th day of the monthly cycle (counting from the 1st day of your period) is the best day.

Telephone consultation hours

Some questions can be answered by telephone which saves you a visit to our practice. The best time to make  telephone inquiries to me personally is from 12.00 to 12.15 p.m. If you have an urgent inquiry, my assistants will take a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. This way I have enough time for my patients and for your problems.

Results of cervical smears

If you do not hear from us by 2 to 3 weeks after a cervical smear, then the results are normal. We will definitely contact you if it is necessary for any further tests or treatment. Another smear after 2 to 3 months is then usually required.

Please make sure we have your current telephone number and address, where you can be reached during our office hours within 2 to 3 weeks after your test.

Our dress code suggestion

Dresses, skirts and/or long sweaters are to be recommended. Dressing and undressing is then much easier and you will not be completely nude during the examination.

Environmental protection

Help us to protect the environment and keep waste at a minimum by bringing a small towel with you. Thank you! Of course we will always have disposable paper towels available for you if necessary.
